Chapter One

23531 Location: Qun’s Room

There once was a space queen. She was the top-notch space etiquette cadet of the naval stronghold for the Galactic Gumway. Her shoes were perfectly Hubba-Bubba pink, and her hair was cosmic blue. The shade of blue you could lose yourself staring into like a transcending black hole. One you could see right through; the whole universe in one glimpse. She was the nation’s goddess. She walked and trailed glitter across the royal spaceship. Weirdly, some said she was allergic to stardust for a space goddess like herself. The Ia comet is approaching the fourth house of Libra. Some says this is when you can see her. She visits our constellations every other summer solstice.

Quniper. Before I finish this story, remember when I told you about your great grandpa. Yeah, the cooky one with the nose ring. Well, bet you didn’t know but he knew the space queen himself, or so he says, and he told me this here story and I’m sure he would’ve told you if he was here. I have never met a space queen but I’m going to tell you about her, and you can decide if she’s real.

Times weren’t as simple as they are right now, Qun. We used to have spaceships like we have horses. Miles and miles of metal, wires, satellites, and chips. It’s strange to think these fields were covered with landing terminals and launch pads.

The space queen wanted space to be space. She saw the vastness of space and time and thought humans and aliens were separated by a thin layer of atmosphere and some gravitation force. Not a very big barrier she thought for humans to overcome. The Earth was the oyster and space was her world. She flew by one summer solstice and saw a man. She saw a man walking like he had two inward pigeon toes. She saw his long hair stroked with white lines. He looked up suddenly and caught a glimpse of her. For a second, their eyes locked. A big-bang sort of look she thought. This has got to be something. She disguised as a normal somewhat ugly looking gal. She covered her magic hair with a brown wig. She was going to go human.

When suddenly, the Galactic Gumway called her in the moment, they noticed she wasn’t back from the solstice surf. They tele her via 343 Hz waves. This is the fastest way to reach her. We have auto-frequency retrievers now for that kind of stuff. She probably won’t answer now though. She is a million light years beyond our galaxy. Maybe try closer to the next, next solstice.

2171 Location: Galactic Gumway

Anyways back to the GG. They kept a tight watch on her but like every youngster, she was as stubborn as they came. Nothing was going to stop her from finding out more about this Earthly, electric feel.

“You may remain casual”, says Xela, the space queen.

Her loyal space servants continued with their extraterrestrial tasks and calmed down since her majesty have returned. She drags her feet back to her cosmic castle and wonders if she has seen all there was in the universe.

“Ring, Ring, Ring … Incoming signal…Commander in Space.”

“Ugh…what is it this time?”

“Queen Xela, we have detected a universal disturbance in the trans galactic continuum.”

“Is that bad? How bad is that?”

“Let me check the Cosmic Mood Ring. Hm…. It shines… an alluring…. hue of heat and eggplant.”

“What does that mean?”, Commander Cooper inquires.

A dog captain with three legs. Lost the leg from a fight with a digital centipede. Don’t ask me how.

In all her reign, the combination of the two have never been indicated by the CMR. This could only mean one thing.

“Ring”, “Ring, “Ring”. The space queen tele her space analyst via epsilon waves, a frequency that spans the whole universe.

“Queen Xela, Reporting for service. The time continuum has indicated a sapling slope of a value of 8.8 on the suack scale.”

“Have you ever seen such a magnitude?”

“Wait, it’s changing. It is magnetizing around clusters. It’s 4.3 now! No, 4.5! What…now it’s .81.”

“Queen Xela, I have no clue what this means…”

“Ok. Let’s see if we can trace the source. Time to track the energy trail!”

“It’s currently stuck right now, oscillating back and forth within the intergalactic channel to the Milkyway.”

Queen Xela thought to herself,

The energy trails. The path an energy force takes can attract an array of space trash and even some star dust. This star dust is native to the star it comes from and that’s how we pretty much guesstimate it. It’s a lot harder than it looks. See, in space you have things going in hyper speed and then other things going in hyper speed and then dark matter makes it hard to see. You also have space time bending around massive planets so the path can even look like a dot.

“Ok. Ok. Ok. I’ve heard enough, how long until you find the coordinates to the source?”, Queen Xela says hastily, wanting to return to her thoughts of the Earth man.

2131 Location: Plant E12 (Earth)- Officer Kharbe’s home office

Meanwhile on Planet E12, the Earth man has been awake ever since his eyes-locked-encounter of the celestial comet. One week passed, Officer Kharbe faced down, shoulder tensed, solid in his grandfather’s wooden chair, with wicker seams rims, his hypoglycemic finger resting twitching from lack of sleep. He lifts his heavy eyelids and sees the morning light peak through the windowsill. It was so bright he could still see the outer glare when he closed his eyes. It has been three elongated days, not a single nap or slumber. He saw the comet but saw in its shadow an object that made the shadow erected in one corner as if something was attached to it.

As an aspiring astronaut, he was up to date on all the space signaling, this was not in his radar or on his space calendar. It was way too early for the Saturn comet to pass this time of the year. The summer solstice perhaps, suddenly occurring to him. He has heard myths from other astronauts of the ancient sightings.

He looks at his manuscript of notes, mapping out all the sightings, landings, and celestial bodies. The theory of the universe. The connection of humankind to our cosmic ancestors. The origins of the Big Bang or before it some have coined the theory.

“Ring” “Ring” “Ring” incoming call from Dr. Rosi Aire, ASLA (Aeronautics and Space Life form Agency) chief researcher.

A private agency originally established in 2058 to sought out galactic life form in hopes of preventing invasion, proactively co-existing with potential outer species. The mission was simple, find aliens and be friends with them. What we have been doing for years— sending songs, sound waves, video recordings. The induction of ASLA was a controversial one even in the wake of space travel. It was presented to the public at the second introduction of the mission Aiden X2. The objective was to fly the Aiden robot through the wormhole that appeared and swallowed the Aiden X. It is a mystery where the crew of the Aiden X teleported to. The space craft survived—spat out a few hours by Jupiter’s moon. Without a trace of anyone on board. The last signal from the Aiden X came a few days later to the craft later released for analysis. The signal got jumbled and reads as shown below.

The message was never deciphered, and the Aiden X bot was never found. Some prospected the bot ran out of battery since it was separated from its power source, and the solar reboot was never initiated inside the dark wormhole; the speed of light was warped inside, ricocheting but never reaching the bot in the mysterious tunnels of the wormhole. The bot could be anywhere by now. Dead battery— fried from constant failed reboots from the bits of light that was able to reach its panels.

The Aiden X2 however, comes with a self-collecting generator, it piles any light slowly allowing for optimal transducing from outer energy forms for reboot all while powering the bot’s basic functions.

“Dr. Rosi, what is it? I haven’t slept or am interested in going to the group seminar today, is there anything I can do for you?”

“Yes. Officer Kharbe, it seems you haven’t been online for the annual summit. We talked about your work, but you weren’t there. Luckily, I was able to answer all the questions. Care to explain your absence?”

Officer Kharbe was known for his eccentric ways, but he was known to never miss the ASLA annual summit where the top space educators, ship makers, mechanist, merchants— you name it meet to talk about everything space. It’s the biggest funded event and it was there when the first Aiden model was debuted.

“Well Dr. Rosi, I have to say, I have had how should I explain it, an out of body experience. I know I have said something like that before and trust me I have stayed up longer, but it has only been the third day and I’m more blown than on our 50th manuscript last summer.”

A marathon event where researchers for charity, publish their articles and what not through intensive, extensive, physically demanding, mentally draining, mind crunching think fest for fifty days straight. Some ran out of things to theorize about, some fainted from pure exhaustion. Some went insane and was carried off by the fest’s medics.
